Lovely hellebores and Witch Hazel are blooming in the garden and I can see the tiny heads of my tulips, daffodils and allium emerging.  It is time to come out of hibernation and I am loving it!

You know you are behind on your blogging when you have practically lapped the time when the pictures are taken.  Last spring I was contacted by my friends Meghan Eagles and Jesse James  of Weddings Tied with Lace and Jesse James Photography to do a little teaching/photo session if you will.  Meghan had just started her Wedding planning company and wanted to learn all about my part of the industry. Here are the fruits of our labour, as well as Jesse’s beautiful pics!

I gave meghan a few centerpiece idea’s to build off of and she went with it! The toughest thing to teach someone new to the flower biz?  How to cut with a knife and not take your finger off!

I also created right alongside Meghan and thought what a great intricate centerpiece this willow wreath would make.  test tubes filled with freesia and hellebores were tucked through the branches and bold echiveria accented the ring.  Finally dried amaranthus was laid amongst the branches for softness.

we also put together one of our favorite bouquets to date.  textured parrot tulips, brunnia berries echiveria and hellebores are paired perfectly with the softness of freesia and garden roses.  The best part of this bouquet was how it photographed completely different from the other side with a bold echiveria taking center stage.

Finally I created a tectural boutonniere of echiveria, brunnia, curly willow and ranunculus to match the bouquet.

Thanks for the visit Meghan and Jesse!  I’ll be seeing alot of you very shortly with the start of 2013 wedding season!!
