I cannot believe how long it has been since I blogged. There is so much work we have done in the last year and a half that is sitting on my computer. I have a few weeks until the really crazy wedding season kicks in so here goes….Blog away Melanie. This shoot was my brain child after I met this wonderful model and now my friend Nina. I had always wanted to do a shoot featuring boho inspired blooms that… Read more »
It was early spring and I needed to create. Not yet wedding season I was itching to craft with my hands. I called up my beauty friends Evan and Serena from Young Glass Photography and they agreed to shoot a stylized engagement session. Here is the pretty we came up with. Always a blast to work with you guys!
On a beautiful summer evening we gathered a group of friendors together to create a magical engagement session for Gillian and Graham. Down the street from my home is this gorgeous beach which was the perfect backdrop. Nataschia Wielink Took all of the lovely images, Amanda Cowley Staged and planned the shoot and Nina Furrato did the hair and make-up.
Lately I have been feeling the need to flex my creativity muscle, do something a little different than the average wedding. I am a lover of anything natural, textural and wild but I don’t always get to pull that into weddings I work on. So every now and then I call on some friends to put together some pretty, and that they did! Woodbourne Inn in the sweetest destination in Niagara on the Lake. Perfect for a bride to get… Read more »
There is something about this team of fabulous vendors I cannot move away from. They bring out the best in my art, or perhaps capture it perfectly. Last spring I was fortunate enough to collaborate on this stunning shoot that was just recently featured in Smitten Magazine Vol. 13. Destiny (Destiny Dawn Photography) and Mike (The Barefoot Stylist) summarized the story of this shoot perfectly: “In this fleeting moment of serendipity, two lovers embrace in a sphere of rich florals… Read more »
I cannot believe I am just posting this shoot. It shows what a crazy year 2014……………and 2015 has been. A group of fabulously talented vendors came together to create a shoot to commemorate the Olympics in Russia, 2014. It was the coldest day of the year, flowers froze and our model was the biggest trouper ever. Would I change a thing? Nope! Here is our fabulous team: Photography: Joel Hannigan Photography Styling: Amanda Cowley Sweet Events Decor: Gala Decor Stationary:… Read more »
A sweet little bridal shower shoot was planned with a handful of fabulous ladies. Kate Spade seemed like a natural fit for this girly shower. We used Bold bright flowers for the fun champagne filled Niagara party. Where better to pop the vino than at Penninsula Ridge Winery. One of my favorite elements of this shoot was the sweets table. Sweet Celebrations created a funky eclair tower and cotton candy. We provided a flower filled frame backdrop with paper accents… Read more »
For Our second look at the photoshoot I created a free-form coral and blush bouquet with accents of burgundy as well as a deep fuchsia and pale pink bouquet. With pink being such a huge colour for 2015 I wanted to take a slight twist and add some other colour options for brides to consider. Coral pairs nicely with blush and fuchsia…who knew!? Sometimes I just need to create, just for myself. No models, major set-ups, contracts….just for me. I wanted to try out a few new styles, have fun with flowers and have it captured perfectly. I think my friend Daniel Ricci Wedding Photography helped me out with that. He let the flowers sing in his images, which is all I can ask for. Our first look was inspired by my latest obsession: Marsala. (another fancy word for a shade of… Read more »
I had the pleasure to be involved in a perfect stylized Christmas shoot held at the cozy Vineland Estates Winery Coach House. Sunny Kuni of Lux Events Co. chose this venue for it’s rustic stone charm and it provided the perfect backdrop for our rustic holiday shoot. The goal was to create a nostalgic warm and cozy Christmas Wedding. Smores toasted on the fire, family and friends gathering, the smell of pine and cedar in the air. We used deep… Read more »
