Jo and Jesse traveled all the way from Australia for their nuptials at Ravine Winery last June. It can be a challenge to plan a wedding from so far, far away, but Jo was a girl who knew what she wanted in terms of feel and colour.  Jo fell in love with Ravine’s rustic charm, and it inspired her to incorporate that natural touch into her soft floral palette. Each Jo’s bridesmaids had a unique flower accent chosen for their bouquet, all of… Read more »

As a creative person, it is very important to create just for the joy of the process and of the finished product. There is no bride waiting for this bouquet, no room full of tables to dress, just a lovely image to capture. I was asked by my good friend Eva of Eva Derrick Photography to create a bouquet and arrangement for a garden bridal shower photo shoot. Combined with a little sweetness from Candy By Katie you have a… Read more »

When I met Monica and she told me about the feel and vibe of her wedding I knew it was a perfect fit.  Pods, berries, anything “weird” she loved.  The more like Doctor Seuss the better!  (She actually said that).  Here is my twist on Suess with some natural  elegance.  I was able to incorporate many of my loves: craspedia (aka yellow ball), poppy pods, snowberries, succulents and berzillia berries.  This is the gardener coming out in me, every inch… Read more »

Three items that are most likely to make me gush when incorporated into a bouquet are Peonies, garden roses and succulents.  Sarah was a girl after my own heart with the style of bouquet she wanted: vibrant and textural.  We paired her soft peonies and garden roses with blushing bride leucadendron and succulents.  The grey brunnia berries and dusty miller foliage provided the perfect grey accent.  Her girls carried very soft bouquets of baby’s breath which were perfect against… Read more »

It’s fabulous to work with a friend on their wedding flowers, it’s even better when that friend is another wedding pro!  Welcome to Eva and Aaaron’s wedding day!   Eva is the amazing lady behind Eva Derrick Photography.  We have worked on weddings together in the past and I simply adore this girl.  Everything about Eva’s personality is calm cool and collected.  It was such a joy to work with her because she gave me a purple and pewter colour… Read more »

Lovely hellebores and Witch Hazel are blooming in the garden and I can see the tiny heads of my tulips, daffodils and allium emerging.  It is time to come out of hibernation and I am loving it!   You know you are behind on your blogging when you have practically lapped the time when the pictures are taken.  Last spring I was contacted by my friends Meghan Eagles and Jesse James  of Weddings Tied with Lace and Jesse James… Read more »

Last summer a handful of amazingly talented Niagara vendors came together for a little french connection   I really love styled shoots, it’s the chance to work with some of my favorite vendros who are hand-picked.   It also gives you the oppourtunity to go all out and try something you may not be able to for a wedding.  For this shoot we collaborated on a soft and pretty french inspiration.  Each vendor took the french theme in blush pink,… Read more »

Cowboy boots, lace and twine; all incorporated perfectly into this winery wedding.I immediately fell in love with this bride at our first meeting; when she told me all of her bridesmaids would be wearing cowboy boots.  I couldn’t wait to create relaxed, rustic wedding floral decor for her Hernder Winery Wedding.  I was given the blush pink and cream/white colour scheme and left to create.  Mink Creative Photography captured all of the beautiful images of this toasty summer wedding…. Funky and fun texture was all over this Scottish infused wedding. I absolutely love when I get to indulge in my love for textural flowers. When I work on a styled shoot I find myself always trying to incorporate a berry, pod or fuzzy feature. Don’t get me wrong I love soft and pretty, I just love adding elements that pop! Vanessa wanted her bouquet to stand out against the lovely tartan from Jeff’s family that was throughout the wedding…. Read more »
